CAS-ual Fridays - #78 - all torn up!

Boy, I'm really on a roll today!  I think this might be my 5th post of the day!  Guess if I didn't wait to take photos of all my cards at the same time, I might be posting on different days! LOL!

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays this week is to: Create a Clean And Simple project that has something torn on it. Tear that card stock, designer paper or even felt. Get creative and tear it up :)

So, that's exactly what I did! I've made another couple of Christmas cards to add to my stash...Here's my take on the challenge:

This first card is super simple...I made a red card base and embossed the sentiment in white detail embossing powder.  I cut a smaller piece of white card stock and tore off one end then scored double lines around the un-torn edges.  Added a red velvet ribbon across the top of the white, then adhered the white torn panel with pop dots.

I really love how this card turned out.  I've had this mistletoe stamp for a couple of years, and I don't believe I've ever inked it up!  It's a Flourishes stamp...and I do love all their stamps!  The sentiment is also from the same Flourishes set.  I made a white card base, cut two rectangles slightly narrower than the card, then tore one edge off each rectangle.  I stamped the mistletoe in black memento ink, then colored it with Copics.  I adhered the top of the "ribbon" on the mistletoe to the top edge of the red torn piece, then added a ribbon bow on top.  The mistletoe is pop-dotted off the card.  The sentiment was stamped in Versamark, then I embossed it with a red tinsel embossing powder that I've had for several years but don't remember ever using before...it really has a sparkly look to it once I heat embossed it.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I always enjoy reading your comments and I do appreciate you taking the time to stop in and visit!  Until next time....

Hugs!

Both cards are just beautiful, but I think my favorite is the second one. I like how you finished off the stamped image with meeting a real ribbon at the tope with the stamped one...very clever, and the super cute sentiment.

Oh my word, woman, missing a few days seeing your posts and it's like a visual feast when you come back! My eyes are blurry with delight over all the eye candy! Can I just say, as always, the last dozen or so cards are breathtaking!! Thank God for Pinterest, which I think I say every time!

Thank you for your good wishes! I'm home and feeling well enough today that I might venture out to the Playhouse for some good card-making therapy. I got itchy fingers. Wait. I guess that could be medication withdrawals, LOL!
