More Birthday Cards....Caution...Photo Overload!!

My daughter in law recently asked me to make some birthday cards for her to give to employees on their birthday.  Sometimes, I get quite a stack of cards, but it just so happens that I was almost completely out of any type of cards.  My card making recently has just been to keep up with birthdays in my family.  Anyway, I digress....I've made the following cards for her to share with the people she works with....

This first set of 11 cards are for my daughter in law.  If you want to see them bigger, you'll just need to click on them individually.

Elephant stamp is from Maymay Stamps.  The black and white card was made using a die I got from Amazon.  Not sure who makes it.

Stacked laundry images from a Maymay Stamp set.  Floral card has punched edge and a SU stamp used for the flowers and branches.

This first card is a bird from the Tim Holtz crazy birds stamp set and sentiments.  Second card is simple a SSS flower die stacked 4 times and adhered on top of patterned paper.

Another SSS flower die inset into a piece of kraft card stock.  Sentiment from PTI.  Second card is just the reverse of the previous.

Embossed background. Sentiment from Hero Arts birthday set from several different companies. Second card is also embossed background and stamp is from the same HA set.

The sentiment on this card is from the same HA set and is cut out and popped up on a pink card base that has been stamped with a background stamp.

The horse card is for one of my granddaughters 15th birthday.  Her favorite thing in the world is horses, so I thought this might make her smile.  The second card with the money roll is for my grandson who is turning 16.  The plastic bubble for the $$ is from MFT.  It actually about the size of a tube of lip balm.  I used a 3D embossing folder for the background and created a tear strip on the inside layer so he could remove the money without tearing up the card. LOL!

These last four are cards I've made in preparation for upcoming family birthdays.  Used lots of dies, some nuvo drops, shiny paper and glitter paper.

Thanks for hanging in until the end! LOL!!  I've really been on a cardmaking spree this week! Thanks so much for stopping by and as always....I love it when you leave me a comment!

Hugs!!

WHOOSH!....and another month rolls by!

Another month has flown by and I don't know where the time goes! I've stayed very busy doing some vinyl work for my church, but I did find the time to make a few birthday cards.  Seems like birthday cards are the ones I use the most and it doesn't hurt to have a few on standby! I didn't go out and check to see if these cards met any of the current challenges....just thought I'd share with you.

I really love this first card.  I used a NBUS stamp from SSS (Beautiful Flowers) and I love that it covers the entire length of the card without having to mask and stamp!  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils then cut around the right side and popped it off the card base.  I added a piece of pink behind the flowers.  The sentiment is also from SSS. I also added a few Nuvo drops in pearl.

This card is just something I was playing with....the tulips are a small stamp from Clearly Besotted and have matching dies.  I stamped, colored with Copics, and popped on a white card base that I made some clouds on using a piece of masking paper and distress inks.  The sentiment is also from Clearly Besotted.

For this card, I used the Peek A Boo die from MFT, the large stitched rectangle was cut with the SSS die.  I had one tulip left from the previous card so I popped it into the opening and added a distress inked background.  I also added a few tiny pieces of bling.

This card is mostly made with Washi tapes.  I added strips of Washi tape to a 4.5 x 5.5 inch background, then adhered it to a white card base.  I used some MFT alpha dies to cut the "happy" from the panel, then cut foam letters too.  I added them back into the cut outs from the Washi panel.  The "birthday" sentiment was stamped with versamark ink and heat embossed in white.  It looked kind of plain, so I added some thin strips of the green to form a border.

This is a card I made for a friend of mine who will soon turn 76.  I always try to send him something unique, so I made this slider card.  I made this card using techniques from a video from Jennifer McGuire. You can see what it looks like opened up in the photo below. The sentiment was die cut 4 times and layered from a MFT die.  I cut the sliding mechanism with the Cameo (although I've since ordered the die to do this).  The balloons are from Sunny Studios and have a matching die. The sentiment inside the card is from PTI (and I've had it forever!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you've left me a comment, please know that I sincerely appreciate each and every one!   Hope to see you again soon!

Where does the time GO!!

PHOTO HEAVY POST

I have been SO busy lately....well, actually for the last couple of months!  I've done quite a bit of scrapping and made a few cards too, so I thought I'd share with you today. I've also been super busy preparing for Vacation Bible School which is actually this week!

I've been scrapbooking quite a bit lately.  I've missed scrapbooking the last few years, but I think I'm getting back in the swing of it now. If you're interested in how I made these pages, here's a link to my gallery at scrapbook.com.  I explain how each layout was created on that site.  Most of my layouts also include journaling, which is also in my gallery at scrapbook.com.

I've also got a few cards to share with you...

This is the card I made for my great granddaughter, Ellie for her 2nd birthday.  It's a really cool card that folds up to make a little book. It used 4 - 8.5 inch squares of card stock and the rest is just folding and scoring...and of course, decorating the card.

Used an edge die to cut the edge of the pink.  Backed it with some glittery paper I made with some score tape and glitter. Cut the sentiment from the same glitter paper that I made.  Popped the pink panel over the glitter paper...and done.

This flower card was stamped on the card base with a PB stamp, then I stamped it on water color paper that I had smooshed some color on and then cut the blooms out and popped them over the stamped image.

The second card....I created the diagonal striped background in my Silhouette program and then layered a sentiment over it that was die cut with a stitched edge die.

This last card was created using a strip of the paper from previous card and cutting it to match the curved teal paper.  The teal paper was dry embossed with an old embossing folder.  The sentiment was generated with the Silhouette program and printed on the card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you've left me a comment, please know that I sincerely appreciate each and every one!  I know this is a photo heavy blog post, but if you've managed to make it through to the end....bless you!  Hope to see you again soon!

NBUS Challenge - Week 2

I thought I'd play along with Darnell's NBUS #9 Challenge this week, which is to use NBUS (never before used schtuff).

I've made a couple of cards thus far...so off we go...

This first card will make you dizzy if you look at it long enough!  The new schtuff I used on this card is the diagonal striped background from MFT and the Kindness die cut from Sugar Pea Designs. The diagonal stripe is actually a wide stripe, but I used my MISTI to stamp a second image under the first by shifting the card panel down a tad to stamp the second time. I cut the "kindness" from the card panel, after adhering it to some fun foam, then inserted it back into the card panel.  The trick with these type of cards is not losing all the little bitty pieces that go in the holes in the letters! And...in a word like this, you have to make sure you put the right pieces back in the holes or the pattern won't line up.  I had to trim the panel down a bit, so I used the dark pink (SSS) ink to color the edges of the card base, then popped the panel off set on the front of the card base.  SUPER simple and quick card!

This is the second card I made with NBUS.  The only NBUS on the card is the flower.  It's a stamp set that I've probably had for several years, but it's never seen ink (bless it's little heart!).  It's from an old Flourishes set called Chrysanthemums.  I cut the sending from the card base just like the first card using the fun foam.  The word "hugs" is from SSS Best Hugs sentiments. I also used the peek-a-boo die to cut the aperture in the card panel.  Flower was colored with Copics and I added a little wink of stella for sparkle. Flower is mounted on card base and panel is popped over it with fun foam.

Darnell...I don't need a prize...just doing this for the fun of it! MWAH ♥

As always, thanks so much for stopping in.  I appreciate your visit...and I appreciate each and every comment!

CASology Week 211 - Dream

It's been a while since I've actually gotten a card posted during a challenge...and I'm barely squeaking into the CASology challenge this week!

I had an idea in my mind, but it didn't work out quite like I had planned, so this card was my second idea.

This little elephant was a freebie from SSS on one of my orders, and I think this is the first time the little guy has seen ink! I stamped the elephant and the balloon with Memento black ink and colored them with Copics. I used a double stitched square die from MFT and cut out the square, leaving the balloon hanging off the top edge of the square.  I don't know what the technique is called, but you have to figure out where you want the die to cut, then mark your stamped image and fussy cut it down to the line you've marked, sliding the (in this case) balloon on TOP of the die and then cutting with your Big Shot/Cuttlebug.  I usually don't have it work out this well...sometimes I have a gap between the fussy cutting and the square...but this time, I guess I was holding my mouth right and it cut just perfect!  The sentiment is from PTI.  I added a little gray shading under the elephant so that he didn't look like he was floating!  I cut a slightly smaller panel with the SSS stitched rectangle die, only I cut it a second time to make it a bit shorter and fit the square stamped piece a little better.  Mounted it all on a white card base...and done!

As always, thanks so much for stopping in.  I appreciate your visit...and I appreciate each and every comment!
