LIM 220 - Up, Up, and Away

This week's challenge at Less is More is a theme challenge.  The theme is "Up, up, and away!"  I had to put my thinking cap on for this challenge!

This first card was super quick and easy!  I purchased the Superman from the Silhouette online store, printed him and cut him out with the Cameo.  The sentiment is also computer generated.  I adhered Superman with some foam tape, and then added a touch of blue around him with Copics.  This card will be perfect for one of my grandsons!

I actually made this card first, then decided it probably didn't have enough "white" space. This is almost a total CASE of a card Kristina Werner did a few weeks ago.  I love the technique and wanted to give it a try.  I stamped the balloons on watercolor paper with distress ink, then did a little blending with a water brush.  After I stamped each color and did the water coloring, I dried it thoroughly with my heat tool - then added the next color of balloons.  I hand drew the strings with a Memento gray marker.  The sentiment is from PTI and was stamped in Versamark on vellum, and heat embossed with liquid platinum embossing powder.  I also added a little Versamark to the edges of the vellum and heat embossed them with the liquid platinum EP too.  I adhered the vellum panel over the balloons and then popped the balloon panel on the card base with some fun foam.

This last card is probably my least favorite of these three cards.  I used a kite stamp from PTI, stamped it three times over a background of clouds I made with distress ink and a hand cut cloud edge.  The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in blue.  I stamped three more kites, colored them with Copics, and cut them out.  I popped them up with foam tape over the stamped images.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by for a visit!  Hope you'll come back soon!  Your comments are greatly appreciated! Until next time...

Wow! You got busy! I like all three cards. Superman is pretty awesome but I have to say that I like the balloons because of the watercolor effect. But the sky you created behind the kites is pretty fab too!

Superman will be much appreciated by a grandson, I'm sure! Love the balloons and how the vellum softens the ones in the middle. Pretty, colorful kites too!
