OLW27 - Christmas Kindness

The One Layer Wednesday this week is at Simplicity's Blog.  We were asked to create a Christmas (or holiday) card and send it to group of gals that make cards for the ND State Penitentiary inmates to send to their families and friends. The restrictions for this card is that it must be a one layer card with no metal (brads, wire, etc.), no gemstones or pearls, and limited glitter .  The addition of flock, ribbon, embossing, and punched shapes are okay.  Here's my card for the challenge:

For my card I used a white card base.  I embossed the image of a Christmas ornament using a Quickutz die with the Cuttlebug and embossing mats.  I masked off the area of the ornament, and then used a circle mask for the moon, and a torn piece of paper for the ground.  I inked the sky with two shades of blue ink from Ranger Ink.  I used a Copics marker to add highlight to the ground (snow).  The two trees were cut with a QK die.  The little Santa and reindeer stamp is from my stash and I have no idea who makes it. I believe it was part of a set that you could use to put in a snow globe.  The sentiment is a PTI stamp from the Vintage Ornament Collection. I colored the top of the ornament with a gold marker and added a gold ribbon bow. The tiny little stars were done by dotting the blue with a white gel pen.

That's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate your visit and your nice comments! Until next time.....

Hugs!
