OLW29 - Classic Beauties Inspiration

This week's OLW challenge hosted by Susan at Simplicity is to get inspired by last Sunday's post of Sunday Sweets on the Cake Wrecks blog.  I was actually inspired by three of the cakes...the lacy designs, the big blooms, and the gorgeous blue cake.  Here's my take on the challenge this week:

I used a solid white card base for my card.  I used three narrow embossing templates for the "icing" - a dotted border and then I used the zigzag border above and below the dots.  I then embossed a piece of paper to use as a mask over the top zigzag and stamped my big flower (Techniques Tuesday).  The sentiment is from PTI and is embossed with white EP. I decided not to color the flower, I just highlighted it with some Copics.  THEN...I colored the background around the flower and the "icing" with the BOO Copic marker.

That's my take this week. Check out the Sunday Sweets on the Cake Wrecks blog and get inspired to create a one layer card and join in the challenge at Simplicity.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Until next time...

Hugs!
