Flourishes - A Sketch and Pretty in Pink

I love Flourishes stamps. In fact, every time I reach for a stamp to make a card, I find myself drawn to the Flourishes stamps.  So, when I saw that there were a couple of challenges at Flourishes this week, I decided to play along.  This first card is based on a sketch  Flourishes provided.  Here's the sketch...

and here's my take on the sketch....
I used one of the stamps from Flourishes Orchids.  I colored the orchids with Copic markers, then added a touch of glitter to the blooms. (If you click on the photo to make it bigger, you can see the glitter). Tied a ribbon around the middle and added a bow.  The birthday sentiment is from PTI and is stamped in SU Whisper White.

The next Flourishes challenge I wanted to play in is Pretty in  Pink using these shades of pink for inspiration:

For my card, I decided to use all solid color card stock.  I'm not sure why, but I seem to have difficulty mixing some patterned papers on a canvas the size of a card....so card stock it is!

The card base is a light pink, then I made a couple of mats and scalloped the edges with the next two shades of pink.  The cherries are a Flourishes stamp in the Cherries and Peaches collection. I stamped the image on a 2.5 inch square, then stamped it again on another piece of card stock. I cut the cherries and the leaves out of the second piece after I'd colored them (I used Prismacolor and OMS for coloring).  Then I layered the leaves and cherries over the top of the 2.5 inch square with pop dots.  I punched a small scalloped border from the darkest pink, a 1/4 inch strip from the medium pink and then a 1/4 inch strip from the lightest pink (the card base color).  I added three pieces of bling that I colored with Copics to match the darker pink.  The  diamond shape (square turned on end) was also matted with the darkest pink.  The cherries are actually shades of pink, but for some reason, all I could get with my camera makes them look a little red.

That's it for the Flourishes Challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by...and thanks a Million for your wonderful comments! Until next time...

Hugs!

Oh, Susan, I feel the same way about Flourishes' stamps. I could use them on just about every card. You've made some beauties, here! Love how you managed the pink. I have lots of scraps of Bazzill paper I need to use, and you might be the inspiration to give me a jump start. Thanks for joining us at Flourishes!

I love your choice of darker card stock with your Orchids because it makes your pinks even pinker! Absolutely gorgeous!

These are both super cute! I love the deep red color you used for one of the mats. It really makes your orchids pop right off the page! Your cherries are super sweet. Love that sketch you used and how your cherries overflow out of the diamond!
