OLW99 - We're Inspired!

This week's One Layer Wednesday challenge is hosted by Susan at Simplicity.  Like most of you, I spend an enormous amount a little time browsing around Pinterest and can find lots of inspirations.  Susan's challenge to us this week is to browse her Pinterest inspiration board and to create a card from something we're inspired by.  I'll just insert here - Susan's inspiration board is full of fabulous inspiration!  Here's my cards for this week. This photo was the inspiration for my first card.

Fall leaves dipped in wax

I used a Kraft card base, stamped some leaves on the card with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink (masking leaves when necessary).  I colored the leaves with Prisma color pencils.  I drew a gold line and then highlighted it with a black line to make the strings to "hang" the leaves.  I also added just a little shadowing on the right side of the leaves to give it some depth.  The leaves are from Flourishes and the sentiment is from PTI.

I was inspired by so much of what Susan has pinned on this board!  This next photo was the inspiration for my second card.

framed branches

For this card, I use PTI's Through the Trees stamp.  I stamped the image using Memento cocoa brown, added a little red bird, then made a frame using a Spellbinder square die to emboss the frame.  The sentiment is also PTI and is stamped in cocoa brown.  It's difficult to see on here, but I also added a bit of stickles on the branches to resemble snow.

This photo was the inspiration for my third and last card.

Vinyl Wall Decal Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass it's about learning to dance in the rain - Home Vinyl Wall Decal Quote. $15.00, via Etsy.

First I masked off the small rectangles and sponged a little green and brown ink inside the rectangles.  The "plant" is a PTI stamp.  The sentiment is also PTI and the brown border is from Flourishes. (You might notice that the sentiment I used is also the words on the wall in the inspiration photo....how cool is that!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Your comments are truly appreciated! Until next time...

Hugs!

What beautiful leaves and you've done a wonderful job of "hanging" them! I love the red bird peeking out of the snowy trees. And the sentiment with the sponged rectangles and beautiful border is amazing!

A. Maze. Ing. Susan, these are spectacular cards! I can't even pick a favorite. The coloring on the first, the debossing on the second, and the fabulous use of the border on the third make them all stand-outs!
