The weekly challenge from Laura at I am the Diva is to create a tile with a Halloween theme. I often have difficulty with Halloween themed challenges, because Halloween is just not one of my favorite holidays, so I generally stick to more of a fall theme. I decided to tangle on some pumpkins for my entry into the challenge.
Originally, I wanted to draw my pumpkin on a black tile and tangle with a white pen. This tile is about 4x4 inches.
After I finished it, I decided I like the black on white better. Which do you think looks the best?
The pumpkins for both tangles were sketched by hand...maybe if I'd used a pattern they'd be a little more even...but hey! Pumpkins are rarely even!
Since I'm already posting some Zentangle Inspired art...I thought I'd share a few more of my recent drawings.
I really like all of these. Some of them look really intricate, but they're really not. I spent about 2.5 to 3 hours on each of them. They're all fairly large...about 6 x 6 inches.
I'm thinking I might get a few of my pieces framed. Not sure what to do with them then, but I do believe they'd look pretty good in a frame.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by! I appreciate all your fabulous comments. Until next time....
♥ Hugs! ♥

Susan, these are all simply stunning! You should definitely get them framed and put on display. xx
These are ALL so AMAZING!
Thanks for your comment on my blog! I love your tangles! On the tote bag I just used sharpie pen. When I was finished with it, I ironed it well to heat set it. That way you can turn it inside out and hand wash it.
Wow these are all awesome!
They are all beautiful, they will be stunning framed.
You should DEFINITELY frame your art. These are breath-taking! Wow! I love the first "bauble" and I love your "bouquet". Actually, I love them all!
As for the pumpkins. I like them both. They are different and I like them for different reasons. There is something about the style of the white on black that appeals to me.
I think both pumpkins are just fab - busy I love the smiley faced one! And the other tangles are just fantastic - you are a true artist!
Love both pumpkins. The white on black is cute, but I also like all the intricate tangles on the black on white.
Wow! Those art pieces are really lovely! I like them all, but especially love the first one. Quite worth framing!
I love these but that first pumpkin stole the show for me!
Just superb. All are framables.
Just superb. All are framable.
Wow!!!..... I am speechless! These are all gorgeous! You were the one that got me started on this and I have great aspirations looking at your works of art. Thanks for sharing! Do you do your circles free-hand to start? they seem so perfect! Vanessa Cadman
Your zen tangles are amazing Susan! Such wonderful pieces of art!
Holy moly - now I know what to strive for - these all are just amazing! They look so detailed and intricate and dramatic. Thanks so much for sharing.
Your punkins are cute and full of personality - I think I prefer the one on white - it seems a little sharper (though that could be the photo/scan).
These are beautiful and breathtaking, Susan!! I love the one that looks like a bee with flowers...wow...definitely worthy of framing:)!!
Hi again, Susan! Love Potion No. 9 was found at Michael's:)!
Beautiful work! I was truly mesmerized
The first pumpkin is elegant with the white curved "mesh" while the second is so happy and friendly-looking. I love your take on Halloween, and I just couldn't choose which one I like better.
Definitely get some of your zen tangles framed!! They are wonderful art.
Hi Susan. Your tangles are gorgeous, and yuo should definitely frame them. I think they wuld liook great in groupings like four squares or six toogether with a n inch or so between them.. Both pumpkins are wonderful. I love to see these!
Susan these are amazing, considering you only started this a few months ago, you are positively an expert at it now.
These are phenomenal Susan, the detail is wonderful, as are the patterns you have created.
