Challenge 46 - Halloween

The weekly challenge from Laura at I am the Diva is to create a tile with a Halloween theme.  I often have difficulty with Halloween themed challenges, because Halloween is just not one of my favorite holidays, so I generally stick to more of a fall theme.  I decided to tangle on some pumpkins for my entry into the challenge.

Originally, I wanted to draw my pumpkin on a black tile and tangle with a white pen.  This tile is about 4x4 inches.

After I finished it, I decided I like the black on white better.  Which do you think looks the best?

The pumpkins for both tangles were sketched by hand...maybe if I'd used a pattern they'd be a little more even...but hey! Pumpkins are rarely even!

Since I'm already posting some Zentangle Inspired art...I thought I'd share a few more of my recent drawings.

I really like all of these.  Some of them look really intricate, but they're really not.  I spent about 2.5 to 3 hours on each of them.  They're all fairly large...about 6 x 6 inches.

I'm thinking I might get a few of my pieces framed. Not sure what to do with them then, but I do believe they'd look pretty good in a frame.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!  I appreciate all your fabulous comments.  Until next time....

♥ Hugs! ♥

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I love your tangles! On the tote bag I just used sharpie pen. When I was finished with it, I ironed it well to heat set it. That way you can turn it inside out and hand wash it.

You should DEFINITELY frame your art. These are breath-taking! Wow! I love the first "bauble" and I love your "bouquet". Actually, I love them all!

As for the pumpkins. I like them both. They are different and I like them for different reasons. There is something about the style of the white on black that appeals to me.

Love both pumpkins. The white on black is cute, but I also like all the intricate tangles on the black on white.

Holy moly - now I know what to strive for - these all are just amazing! They look so detailed and intricate and dramatic. Thanks so much for sharing.

Your punkins are cute and full of personality - I think I prefer the one on white - it seems a little sharper (though that could be the photo/scan).

The first pumpkin is elegant with the white curved "mesh" while the second is so happy and friendly-looking. I love your take on Halloween, and I just couldn't choose which one I like better.

Definitely get some of your zen tangles framed!! They are wonderful art.

Hi Susan. Your tangles are gorgeous, and yuo should definitely frame them. I think they wuld liook great in groupings like four squares or six toogether with a n inch or so between them.. Both pumpkins are wonderful. I love to see these!
