Challenge 50 - Make it BIG

The challenge this week from Laura at I am the Diva is  "to push your comfort zone and biggify your tangles.  Don't biggify your canvas, try sticking to the size you generally work on to get the full effect."

I generally work on 5x5 inch pieces, so I used my typical size.  I find that I'm drawn to circles. They're neat and clean...and ...organized. I know, it's my type A personality jumping in! LOL!  Since I like circles, that's what I've decided to go with for this challenge.

I've used keeko, paradox, flying geese, and nzeppel...all biggified! (I hope I got the names right!)

Thought I'd also throw in a few of my pieces that I've done this past week.  I find myself tangling every evening while sitting in front of the television. Sometimes I get so involved with my tangles, I pay no attention to what's on...very relaxing!

This one makes me think of a cross..

This is just one of my mindless swirls....embellished....

Back to my circles again. I love the finished look.

Now...one big circle...this is on a 6x6 sketchpad.
Below is the tangle sequence for the tangle I "thought" I'd designed.  Seems as though it might be an offshoot of the tangle OOF.  It does have the same base tangle...but I dressed it up a bit for my tangle....so I guess it's a variation of OOF. Whatever it is, I'm really loving it!

I think the finished tangle is very lacy looking...and I love how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.  Your comments are always appreciated and welcomed.  Until next time...

Hugs!

Wow - I love your work. While the biggie tile is a great interpretation of the prompt this week, I really LOVE the mindless swirl. That's my favorite style though I struggle to actualize it. I love the openness but find myself working closed in. I love the swirls but keep retreating to grids. Wassup with that?? Yours are so inspiring, I'm working on this more open style again tonight for my biggie contribution!

Wow! Great collection of zentangles! They are all wonderful, but I am particularly drawn to the fourth one with all the spheres.

Thanks also for posting your instructions for your new tangle, or tangleation. It's different enough from oof to make it easier to do, I think, even though the results are nicer.

Also, I posted a link to my approach to Tripoli on my blog, but I'll leave it here, too. I still find it hard to do. http://findingmelosingme.blogspot.com/2011/06/new-approach-to-tripoli-tangle-not.html.

What great tiles! The fourth one with the spheres especially speaks to me.

Thanks for the instructions for your new tangle. They seem easier to follow than the ones for oof, and I like the result better, too.

I posted a link to my approach to Tripoli (which I still find hard to do) on my blog, but here it is, too. http://findingmelosingme.blogspot.com/2011/06/new-approach-to-tripoli-tangle-not.html

Hi Susan! I have been meaning to sit down and write - that you for that wonderful email. I really love to see your tangles. I really think you could sell them. The would look great in black frames in sets of 3 or 4. They are fascinating. The third one reminds me of the inside os a shell. They are all gorgeous, but I particularly love that one. Sending hugs.

LOVE your tangles - super beautiful! I totally get the Type A personality bit - I tend to be the same way. BTW - a 4b card is 3.5 x 5.
