Challenge #56 - Non-Dominant

Our challenge this week from Laura at I am the Diva was a big surprise for me.  This week we've been challenged to do an ENTIRE tile or ZIA using only our non-dominant hand.  Since I'm right handed, I did my string, tangles, and shading with my left hand.  It was very difficult for me to "let go" and let my left hand take over control of my tangling while my right hand just sat idly by doing nothing!  The result is a bit wobbly and shaky, but here it is:

I thought I would add....about 2 years ago I had surgery on my right thumb which put my right hand out of commission for about 3 or 4 months.  During that time, I had to use my left hand for some things, so even though my lines are a bit wobbly and shaky on this tile, I think if I had not had to use my left hand so much two years ago, it would definitely been messier looking.

Thanks so much for popping in! Love your awesome comments!  Have a wonderful day.  I'll be drawing for the winner of the gift card later today, so stay tuned to find out if you're a winner!!  You still have a few hours to post a comment on this post if you want your name entered in the drawing.  Good Luck!

Until next time...

Hugs!

Susan, You did a great job. Wasn't this a doozy. I kept laughing while I did mine because it was like my left hand had a mind of its own!

So you see, even when you have exersits 2 years ago it is stil difficult and wobbly. Nice word.wobbly..for a dutch girl!!
We say hobbelig or bobbelig.

I thought your tile looked awfully good for a non-dominant hand. Then I read that you had had some practice at one point. Isn't it amazing how the body can rise to the challenge when required?

Thats a super piece, the details are fantastic. I would find it difficult to use my left hand.

this is really good! You have great control with your left hand.

Wow, that is so amazing...and with your non-dominant hand! I'm not sure I could even draw a good stick person with my left hand!

Your tangle is amazing, for your non-dom hand but found your post very enlightening. I guess we should use that other hand, hanging there at the end of our left arm, more often!

You are so lucky to have the opportunity to use the left hand! Your work looks so beautiful, brilliant and unique!

Susan, you are such a master at all you do with the art of zentangle. I love that you didn't make this challenge simple. You really did make a beautiful tile!

Doesn't look messy at all, just fabulous

I simply love your tile. It must have been so hard to háve to use your other hand for a while. Now it was 'just for fun'. That is better, if it is by choice. Anyway, I think it is beautiful.

Once in awhile it's fun to have a good shake and wobble. Lovely!

Hi Susan!
Thanks so much for visiting me!! You are right. The tile for my ZIA piece is longer. It is in a 3x5 notebook.
Your tile is total perfection!
