OLW77 - Happy Birdie!

It's time once again for the One Layer Wednesday challenge.  This week the challenge is hosted by Jennifer at Styles Inc.  This week, Jennifer has challenged us to make a one-layer BIRTHDAY card incorporating a bird (or birds).  Easy peasy...right?  Well, it would be if I had any bird stamps! Okay, I do have two or three, but I couldn't think of a thing to do with the few that I do have....so...I resorted to some digi images.

This first card was created using a sketch image I found online.  I printed the image onto my card base and then colored him with Copics.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

This second card was printed through my Silhouette (Cameo) program.  The birds are images in my Silhouette library.  I printed them on the card base, then sponged a little "ground" under their feet and added a (crooked) sentiment from Papertrey Ink.  The images were already colored in for me.

This pretty cardinal was another image I found online (I just searched for drawings of birds).  There were originally some berries on the limbs, but I edited those out.  I re-sized the image to fit the front of the card, then printed it using my Silhouette program.  Note:  When printing out images with an ink jet printer, let the image dry overnight or heat set it.  I tried heat setting the ink on this image before coloring...and I got everything set except the ink on his tail feathers...I see a little smudging when I colored the image with my Copics. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

That's my take on the challenge this week.  I think my favorite one this week is the first card. I don't know how I got him colored so well...but he's really pretty!

Thanks a bunch for popping in!  I appreciate all your comments! Until next time...

Hugs!
