One Layer Wednesday #81 - Black & Cream with Bling

The One Layer Wednesday challenge this week is hosted by Jennifer at Styles Ink.  Jennifer has challenged us  to make a card using a cream base, black ink and just a hint of bling.  No problem...or is it?

Here's my take on the challenge....I actually ended up making 5 cards, but one of them was just blah...so I'll show you the other four! LOL!

This first card was stamped in black on cream with some very old Fancy Pants stamps that I found in the back of my cabinet!  I added some stickles to the hearts, but they just don't show up very well.

This card is a combination of SU French Foliage, Papertrey Harvest Berries, and an old SU sentiment.  Added three pieces of purple bling...looks like my sentiment is crooked...

Then I moved on to the big images from the Harvest Berry set and stamped both images with the large image just hanging it off the edge a little more on the top stamp.  The sentiment is another oldie from SU.  I added a few pieces of teal bling on this card.

My last last card is my favorite....must be the happy birthday sentiment! (which is another old SU stamp).

The black and cream just doesn't do it for me for some reason...but I gave it my best shot! LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Comments always appreciated!! Until next time...

Hugs!

Hi, Susan! These are all amazing--I really love that second one! The script square behind the main image and sentiment are fabulous! :)

Another amazing SET of cards, Ann! You put us all to shame! My favorite is the Harvest Berry Thinking of You. I have that sentiment set and still use it a lot.

The black and cream may not do it for you but you have made some gorgeous cards. I don't have that PTI set but you have used it so beautifully I'm going to have to move it up my wishlist!

I think your cards are beautiful. I find that black and cream makes everything very elegant! Love that Papertrey set - it's one that didn't appeal to me when they first brought it out, but I've seen many, many cards made with it (including yours!) that are so beautiful.

WOW! What beautiful cards. It just goes to show us what you can do with basic black and cream. Very elegant....no color to detract from the over all image. Love all of them

Oh, I think these are lovely Susan. The Harvest Berry branches look gorgeous in black. I really like that first one, too, with the flourishes. Ann Y.

I had a lot of trouble with the black and cream too, Susan. I'm not sure what it is. I think I like black and white better, maybe? Then my card wouldn't load in to the linky. I like all of your cards though. The flourishes and that awesome birthday sentiment make a great card as do the ginkgo leaves.
