LIM 87 - Lucky Dip

I was so thrilled when Chrissie and Mandi asked me to be the guest designer for this week's Lucky Dip challenge with a theme of Love and Marriage.  I sent two cards I'd made for the challenge (you can see them here).  I just couldn't resist making just one more card.  The idea for this card has been rattling around in my head for several days, and I finally got around to making it last night.  It's kind of a spin off on a card I made earlier this year.

I used my Cameo to cut out the heart in the center of a white panel (4 x 5.25").  I also made the heart frames.  To do that, I copied the heart that I cut out of the center of the panel, then made an offset heart in the Silhouette program.  I cut out three layers and glued them together to get a little depth on the frame.  I also cut the small red hearts out using the Cameo.  I adhered 5 hearts together for each heart, then punched a small hole in the top of the heart and threaded some jute string through the hearts.  I tied the ends together then tied them again in a bow and adhered the bow to the top of the heart frame.  The tag for the sentiment (from PTI) was made by punching each end of the tag using a corner punch.  Then I just added a couple of pieces of small bling.  I put a piece of gold paper behind the red hearts, and then pop dotted the white panel on the card base.  On this card the hearts are not adhered to the card, but simply swing free.

Thanks so much for stopping by and thank you for all your wonderful comments! Until next time....

Hugs!

Thank you so much for that tip. It did cross my mind "after" I uploaded. Groan. Since LIM has a standard of lots of white, I need to be aware of my BG in photos.
Have a great week.

Susan I was so delighted to see you guesting at LiM! Your cards are a delight and I look forward to your 'gallery' every week. Your wedding cards are no exception and this one is probably my favourite of your creations this week. The hearts are a lovely pop of colour and I love the way they are suspended in the heart aperture.

Congratulations on your well deserved designer spot and on all your lovely cards. I just saw this one today after I posted my card and we had similar thoughts about using the Cameo. I am still trying to get to grips with mine.
