Addicted to Stamps and More

This will be my third post for today!  I have been busy, busy!!!

The challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More is one of my favorites...Clean and Simple.  I got my card made using a sketch from CAS(E) this sketch, only to realize that I missed that challenge...and I might miss the challenge at ATSAM if I don't get a move on!

Here's my card for this challenge:

I had a lot of fun making this card.  I cut the white panel to fit at an angle, then added a stitched edge using a die from Paper Smooches. I cut the sentiment from white card stock three times and layered them for dimension.  I put some score tape across the back of the cards and put the letters back in the white panel.  I cut a flower die using the SS Calliope die and tucked it under the corner of the white panel.  I layered all of the white on a Kraft card base, popping up the panel with some fun foam.  I added a little clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and the letters in the sentiment.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by for a visit!  Hope you'll come back soon!  Your comments are greatly appreciated! Until next time...

Masking...for Happy Little Stampers and AAA Cards

I had some fun with masking today.  I made a card that fits 2 challenges - Happy Little Stampers and AAA Cards!  YAY Me!!  This card was fun to make....a little time consuming, but fun.

I used Uniko's Gerber Daisy stamp for this card.  I stamped the first bloom, cut out a mask and then stamped the second bloom.  I trimmed the panel down slightly so that it would be slightly smaller than the card base.  I colored the daisies with Copics then trimmed around the outside edges.  I adhered a piece of scrap green paper onto the card base, then popped the flower panel over it with fun foam.  The sentiment is from PTI and is heat embossed in liquid platinum.

CASology 161 and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

I've made a few cards today (AND got them photographed!) that I'd like to share with you.  This first card is for the current challenges at CASology and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.

I stamped the plaid background with Hero Arts mid-tone shadow inks (cornflower, fresh peach, and mint julep).  I used the stripe stamps from a PTI set.  The sentiment is from from Lawn Fawn, and the greenery is a die from Impression Obsession.  I inked some white card stock with the mint julep HA ink and then cut the leaves out.  The sentiment was cut 4 times and layered.  I used a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch....thinking that I was getting it finished in time for that sketch challenge...nope...missed it!  But it still works for the CASology challenge and for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.  I also used a stitched edges die from Paper Smooches.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by for a visit!  Hope you'll come back soon!  Your comments are greatly appreciated! Until next time...

LIM 238 - Sketch Challenge

Once again I'm running behind getting my cards photographed!  I finished these two card several days ago, but just got around to taking pics this morning.  As a matter of fact, I'm also going to share a couple of cards I made for a challenge LAST week, but never got them posted!

These first two cards are for the current challenge at Less is More, which happens to be a sketch challenge. Here's the sketch:

Here's my take:

Not much to either of these card...very CAS!  I die cut a stitched rectangle with a SSS die, then cut it at an angle.  I cut the letters for "happy" from the top piece, then cut them again from some gold foil paper and inserted the gold letters back into the negative space where I cut the white letters out.  I have the top piece popped up with some fun foam and the bottom piece adhered directly to the card base.  I added a small strip of black card stock behind the letters thinking that it would show how the letters are popped over the bottom panel.  The birthday sentiment is from a PTI set.

This second card was made by cutting 2 panels (4 x 5.25) and them cutting both at the same time to get the same angle.  I then adhered them them together with some score tape. (and I have the reverse cuts to make another card!) I cut the SSS die "thanks" 3 times from the blue paper, stacked them and adhered them above the diagonal line.  The remainder of the sentiment is from a Winnie & Walter set.

These next two cards were the ones I made for last week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch...but I didn't get them posted in time.

Front white panel cut with the Cameo, then popped over a blue base and adhered to a white card base. The sentiment is from PTI and then I added a few sequins....quick and easy!

For this card, I cut a 4 x 5.25 panel, embossed it, then cut the swirl with an Xacto knife. I used a PTI sentiment and curved it on my MISTI to match the curve of the embossed panel.  I had to trim off a portion of the bottom panel so that there would be a nice gap for the sentiment to shine through.  I added some bling to the embossed panel and as the dot on the "i".  The embossed panel was popped up on the card base using fun foam.

LIM 236 - The Eyes Have it!

I'm finally getting my cards posted for the Less is More challenge for this week.  My problem is taking the time to photograph my cards!  I don't know why this is so difficult for me to get done!  This week is a one layer card challenge and we must use something with "eyes" on the card.  I actually made several cards (surprise, surprise!) because I didn't really "like" the first ones I came up with!

This card was made using a Paper Smooches stamp set.  I embossed the double stitched circle with a die from SSS. I drew on the ground and colored it with Copics.  Very quick and easy card.

For this second card I finally used a stamp that I've had for a year or two!  The woman is a stamp from Riley & Company.  I stamped in Memento black and then colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle.  Inside the card I stamped....I missed your birthday...a sentiment from TH.

I think I might have to give up on water coloring.  I used the TH stamps to create this card on water color paper. I tried using the Zig Clean Color brush pens to add color and I guess I just haven't gotten the knack of using them yet.  Not happy with my coloring at all!  I drew a string to hold his hat on and a string for the deflated balloon.  I think water coloring is kind of messy and random....and I'm just too much of a perfectionist!

I tried water coloring on Neenah solar white card stock for this card.  Didn't turn out very well.  The water really saturates the card stock.  Oh, well....I sure I can find someone to send this one to! LOL!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by for a visit!  Hope you'll come back soon!  Your comments are greatly appreciated! Until next time...

Simplicity, ATSAM, & Happy Little Stampers!

This first card actually fits two different challenges...Simplicity and Happy Little Stampers. The challenge this month at Simplicity is to "strip down"...not literally...but to mask a strip down the front of your card and stamp away.  The challenge at Happy Little Stampers is to use masking. Here's my take...

I masked off about a one inch strip, then cut a small mask to create the "hills".  Then I reversed the mask and sponged the sky.  I found a very small tree stamp and stamped it in black and slightly off the edge so that only part of the tree is visible on each side.  Added a few stars with a silver signo pen.  Sentiment is from Winnie & Walter and is stamped in Versafine black.  I used my MISTI for placement because I ended up needing to stamp it twice to get good coverage with the black.

The challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More this week is my favorite....Anything Goes!

This first card was the result of my practicing techniques from the most recent Online Card Class.  I had a full panel that I'd inked, but then I messed up the top portion, so I cut it down to make this card. I added the stitched lines with a die from Paper Smooches.  The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter. I added the inked panel to a white card base and added just a thin strip of black between the two.  The hearts were punched and inked then adhered with foam tape.

This is another card I made with a panel I made when practicing my ink blending.  I made the swirly cover plate with the Cameo...trying to mimic PTI waves the cover plate.  It doesn't look nearly as good as cutting it with a cover plate would, but I was happy with the results.  The sentiment is from SSS.
