Muse Challenge 161 and lots more....

I made a card this week that is perfect for the Muse Challenge.  Here's the card from Anita Bowden who is this week's Muse:

The inspiration I took away from this card is the inlaid die cut and the pierced edges with lots of white background.

I used a branch die and a bird die from Memory Box and the "Be" die from Simon Says Stamps.  Each of these dies were inlaid into a white background cut with a stitched border die from SSS.  The "happy" is a stamp from SSS. It took me a while to figure out which order to cut the inlaid dies, but I finally got it! :)

Here's a few more of the cards I've made this week.  (I'll be using them with our widows group)

Stamps from Altenew's Beautiful Day
Stamps from Altenew and Hero Arts

Stamps from Altenew and Simon Says

Stamps from Stampin Up

If you have any questions about any of the cards, you can drop me an email at the link on the right side bar.  All coloring was done with Copic markers.  Some of the flowers were simple stamped with three coordinating colors.

Muse Challenge, ATSAM, and LIM...Go ME!

I've made several cards today for three different challenges! Go ME!  I've had a very productive day! The challenges I have cards for are Less is More, Muse, and Addicted to Stamps and More...

We'd love you to display our banner

I actually made two cards for the LIM challenge...but that's not unusual for me.

Used the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set for this first card.  Sentiment is from PTI.  I stamped the flower in layers using 3 different colors of ink.  Leaves were stamped in two layers.  I LOVE layered stamps (now that I've figured out how to use them!)

I inked the background with distress ink, then stamped the image over it in black Memento ink.  I wasn't sure how it would turn out to color over the background ink with Copics...but I think it turned out just fine.  Sentiment is from Altenew's Beautiful day stamp set.

This next card is for the MUSE challenge.  I heat embossed the flowers from Clearly Besotted stamp set (love this set!) with clear embossing powder.  The sentiment is from SSS and is stamped in black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  After coloring the flower and heat embossing the sentiment, I ran the panel through my Big Shot machine with an embossing folder....pretty cool look!

I can't say I'm really happy with this card...I often feel that way when I try to use water colors!  I water colored the background, stamped the cupcake on watercolor paper and then painted it with distress inks.  Sentiment is from MFT and is stamped in Versafine black.

Muse Challenge - #137

I don't often play in the Muse Challenge, but this week's inspiration sparked an idea for me.

I found a cover plate that I just had to have...and decided it would be perfect to recreated a card like this one.

I cut the cover plate of hearts from white card stock, then cut it again with red, yellow, green, blue, and purple.  I put pop dots behind each of the hearts...then I lightly adhered the white heart panel over the card base and put the hearts back in the openings with the pop dots raising them up.  After adhering all of the hearts, I removed the white cover plate background. I added a strip of black card stock to separate the sentiment from the hearts.  The large red heart was punched and the sentiment on the heart is a PTI sentiment.  I added some white dots around the edge with a white Signo pen. The "big hugs" sentiment is from SSS.

Muse.....a challenge

This week the inspiration card at MUSE is a card by Marion Vagg.

I love the design of this card....and it only took me a few minutes to decide what I wanted to do.  Here's my take on Marion's card:

I used Lenten Rose collection from Flourishes for my image.  The stamp I wanted to use needed just one more flower, so I used the single bloom in the set and stamped it first (The bloom on the left)...masked it...then stamped the main image over the top of it, which gave me a few leaves behind the flower I added to the image.  I colored the roses and leaves with several shades of red Copics.  To give the card a little more dimension, I stamped the flowers again on another piece of card stock, colored them and cut out the flowers I wanted to use.  I pop dotted the flowers over the ones I'd already colored.  I added some yellow stickles to the centers of the flowers...then rounded the corners of the white panel and popped it on a white card base.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Fun with Fusion, Muse, and ATCAS

I have a couple of new cards to show you today.

WooHoo!!!  I am so excited that I was able to combine several challenges when I made this first card!!  Can you believe it!!  The first card is for the following challenges:

1.  Fusion Card Challenge                                 2.  Muse

I selected the colors from the Muse challenge, the layout and the flowers from the Fusion challenge, and the sentiment for the ATCAS challenge.  I cut chevrons from a white panel cut slightly smaller than the card base.  I colored three stripes with green and purple Copics on another piece of card stock.  I put some double sided tape over the colored stripes and covered them with some glamour dust.  I used pop dots to adhere the chevrons over the glittery stripes.  The flowers are die cut and stamped (Sweet n Sassy die and stamps), and colored with the purple Copic. I added some leaves that were cut (Sizzix die) from white card stock and colored with Copics. I stamped the sentiment from HA in black before popping that layer on with pop dots.

This card also fits the Fusion challenge, but I decided that I liked the first one better.  For this card, I made my chevrons by cutting 1 inch squares then cutting them in half horizontally and aligning them across the card to resemble a chevron.  I adhered them with pop dots and coated all the chevron with some crystal lacquer.  The "flowers" are cut with a Lifestyles die.  I added clear bling to the centers of each flower and then colored the bling centers with colored sharpies.

MUSE....

I haven't played along with the Muse challenge before, but since the muse this week is Ardyth, I thought I'd give it a try.  Ardyth has a style of her own.  I can usually spot an "Ardyth" card!  She loves bright colors and anything CAS (and she's also know to have a bit of a thing for stickles or glitter).  Here's Ardyth's card:

I was inspired by the circles and the design of this card.  Here's my take on the challenge:

I used an old HA stamp that I've had forever.  It was a 12" wide stamp with various circles on it, but since I never use it as a 12" wide stamp, I cut it in half to just use part of it.  I stamped the line of circles twice in HA Orange Soda.  The sentiment is from PTI and is stamped in black on a strip of white card stock that has been embossed with an embossing plate from PTI.  I backed the strip and the white stamped panel with tiny strips of orange.  I added two pieces of bling that were clear, but I colored them with an orange Copic marker.  I also added (in honor of Ardyth) a touch of stickles to parts of the circles.
