Here's my final layout for Creative Scrappers. This is a family photo of our oldest son and his family, made just before the oldest (Galen) entered the Air Force. Papers are My Mind's Eye, Prima blooms, and some swirls cut with the Quickutz.

Fall To Layout 106

Here's another card...this card was designed using the fabulous Fall To Layout sketch #106 from the Clean and Simple blog.

I used a white card base. I scored at 1/4 inch intervals around the outside edges of the card. I added a piece of solid green cardstock, stamped a sentiment on it, and then added the little K&Company butterflies. Simple, quick, and totally cute! Here's the sketch, now you can give it a whirl! Quit buying birthday cards...save some money...and use up your scraps all at the same time!

This one was definitely one of the quickest cards I've finished in a long time. Fifteen minutes...tops!

Creative Scrappers Reveal - Sketch #118

It's reveal day again at Creative Scrappers! This is sketch #118. A totally fun sketch! This is the first time I've made a banner. Turned out kinda cool too! LOL!

All papers are from Close To My Heart. The title "everyday" is a chipboard title that I've had forever, and I hand wrote the word "moments" below it. The little pinwheel flowers I cut from the patterned paper, then added a little doodling to the edges. Some of the flowers are also on pop dots. The scalloped edges on the banner were cut with a pair of decorative scissors. I added rub on letters on the banner and then drew a couple of little flowers on the end banner pieces. Banner pieces are attached to a pink ribbon. This is one of the photos I took a couple of years ago at a local park in town.

Creative Scrapers - Sketch #116

It's time again for a new reveal from Creative Scrappers. This week is sketch #116 designed by Nichole . Here's my take on the sketch:

This sketch was a bit of a challenge for me. VERY open spaces...and I tried to stay true to the sketch. I used some Glimmer Mist in a royal blue, for the first time. It made my paper a little bubbly, but I finally managed to flatten it out again. The circles are drawn with a zig pen, and the three clear background squares behind the photo I did by making rectangles in word and overlapping them, then printed them on a transparency. The journaling block I made by cutting a pattern from a piece of copy paper, then tracing it onto my card stock for cutting. I used Thickers for the title....added some doodled lines around the edges and a little white doodling to the journaling block. Yep...this was totally out of the box for me...but I definitely enjoyed the challenge! Here's the sketch:

Creative Scrappers - Reveal #114

It's time once again for another sketch reveal from Creative Scrappers. Today is sketch #114. Here's my take:

I used Basic Grey's Urban Prairie collection. The oval tag was cut with a spellbinder die. The swirl was cut with a Quickutz die. The glass bubble embellies are Prima's that seem to match perfectly. The journaling was added in strips on the top. The bracket is from some chipboard I had in my stash (don't know how long!) and I covered it with paper to match. Here's the sketch:

Creative Scrappers Reveal #112

Today is reveal day at Creative Scrappers. This is sketch #112. This is photos of Allen and Helen Grace on the first day of school. Okay, so he's in Pre-K 4 and she's in Pre-K 3, but it's still the first day of school for them. Just take a look at those backpacks...LOL! Almost as big as they are! A lot of thought goes into picking out the perfect backpack! I used lots of bright colors and did a little stitching around the photos.

Creative Scrappers - Sketch #110 Revealed

It's reveal day at Creative Scrappers! Today reveal is sketch #110 and layouts by Team P. Here's my take on the sketch:

This is a photo of my handsome grandson, Allen. It's very difficult to get a smile from Allen. He loves to laugh and smiles a lot...just not when I get my camera out! LOL!

The papers I used are Bella Blvd - Man of the House Collection. I love the argyle print...just very "boyish" to me. I added some rust and blue cardstock to finish it off. The scalloped edge is cut with "cloud" scissors from Ek Success. Life is good is a rubon that I placed on a circle punched with a 1" circle punch. The frog embellie is just one I found in my stash...no idea who makes that. The other circles were punched with a circle punch. I added a little journaling block. All papers and the photo are matted with a dark brown in order to make the patterned paper pop.

My First Layout for Creative Scrappers DT

Today is the first reveal for Design Team P at Creative Scrappers. Our sketch this weeks is Sketch #108...as shown below.

Here's my take on the sketch. Photos of my granddaughter, Helen Grace playing at the park last fall. This was really a pretty tall slide, but Helen Grace wasn't scared at all!

I used a white background with touches of orange (a color I rarely use). The border is the loopy punch by Martha Stewart. Large circle was cut with the EK Success Circle Cutter. I inked the edges of the patterned paper with some orange ink to make it stand out from the white background.

Trying one of Pammy's Templates

Here's a new layout that I just completed with some photos I took right before Thanksgiving. As a contributing artist for Ideas for Scrapbookers, I wanted to use one of Pammy's templates and this leaf template was perfect with these pictures of Katie and Adam.

The large leaf is part of the template and I used it for a pattern to print my journaling on. The smaller leaves were punched with a large leaf punch. I actually "made" the paper that the leaves are punched from with several different color inks and the Tim Holtz sponge applicator (this is the applicator with the felt pads, but I used the foam pad attachments).
