Zendala Dare 40

It's been quite a while since I posted an entry for the Zendala Dare hosted by Erin of the Bright Owl blog.  I usually try to play along, but don't always get my take on the dare posted.  So...I got one finished for this week's dare, and I even added a touch of color...and I kind of like it!

Here's the template:

And here's my take on the challenge:

I did my work in a larger format and my ZIA is about a 6 x 6 square. I had fun with this template and might even try it again.  If you'd like to see all the beautiful entries for this challenge, go check out the linky's at the Bright Owl.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I always enjoy reading your comments and I truly appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment!  Until next time....

Zendala Dare 29

This week's challenge from Erin at The Bright Owl blog is to create a zendala using the following template:

Here's my take on this template...

The actual tile size is approximately 6 x 6.  I love how this one turned out.

This next one I just thought I'd share.  I generally tangle at night while watching television (I love to multi-task).  I had no idea where this was headed when I started, but it's different...and I kinda like it!

A Little Tangling

It's been weeks since I had time to play in a couple of my Zentangle challenges.  This first tile is for the challenge hosted each week by Laura at I am the Diva. This week's challenge is to create a pinwheel for peace.  The challenge was issued based on a challenge we had about a year ago to tangle a pinwheel for peace.  Pinwheels for Peace originally started as an art installation organized by two high school teachers in Florida.  They used the project as a way to teach kids how to express their feelings about the world and what's going on in it.  Since then, it's grown from 500,000 pinwheels the first year to 3.5 million last year!!

So here's my contribution to Pinwheels for Peace.  Tile size is approximately 5 x 5.

This next tile is my submission for Erin's Zendala Dare 23.   Each week Erin gives us a template to complete with tangles...so here's my take on this weeks template.

Thanks so much for popping in...hope to see you again soon!  Your comments are always appreciated! Until next time...

Diva and a Dare Challenges

Here's my entries for two of the weekly tangle challenges.  This first tangle is for the challenge #16 issued by Erin at The Bright Owl blogspot.  Here's the template she's given us this week.
My tile turned out to be about 5 x 5 inches.  Very simple tangles.  Does anyone recognize the scalloped tangles on the four petals?  I thought I'd drawn a new tangle, but I'm not sure if it's already out there and I just don't know it.  I've posted my directions at the end of this post.

This second tangle is also about 5 x 5 inches and was drawn using this template that Erin from The Bright Owl provided for the Diva Challenge this week.
I'm not sure of all the tangles I used on this one...just went with the flow.  I really liked how this one turned out.

Here's the steps to the tangle that I'm calling "Fanz".  If anyone know whether this has already been put out there by someone else, please let me know. It's a great "fill in" tangle and I think I'll be using it often.

That's it for me today.  Thanks a million for stopping by! Until next time.....

Diva and Dare....read on....

I've been slow to post lately...just lazy I guess!  This week Erin has again provided a template for our weekly Dare Challenge.  Here's what our template looks like this week.

Here's my finished piece.  Can you see the template?  I didn't think I would be able to do this one...but once I finished, I think I might just give it another try!

Another challenge I like to play in when I have the time is the challenge from Laura at I am the Diva.

The founders of Zentangle, Rick and Maria, recently designed a new tangle called Auraknot.  Last week Rick and Maria showed us the new tangle in their newsletter.  I find that I'm really enjoying this new tangle. I still need some practice, but I'll get there!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Your comments are always appreciated!! Until next time...

Dare Challenge #13

It's been a few weeks since I played along with the Dare challenge. This week along with the template Erin has provided, we're also challenged to  have some fun playing with papers we would not normally Zentangle with.  The only rule is that we cannot use traditional Zentangle paper or tiles. We can use scrapbook paper, stationary, a brown paper lunch sack, or old gift wrap.  I chose to tangle on a scrap of white scrapbook paper.  My paper is approximately 5 x 5 inches.

I have a couple of additional tiles I'd like to show you today.  This first one is a template from the Dare challenge #10.  I've had it done for a while, just never got it posted.

Not sure I was crazy about it when I finished it...the center kind of looks like a bug/insect to me!  This last one is one of the round Zentangle tiles I purchased some time back and I'm slowly working on them.  I think I'm purposefully working on them slowly, just because I don't want to use them up too fast! LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping in.  I have some scrapbook layouts that I'll probably post sometime today or tomorrow.  As always, I truly appreciate all of your wonderful comments!  Until next time...

Zendala Dare 8

On Fridays there's a new Zendala Challenge dare posted at The Bright Owl by Erin.  Erin gives us a zendala template and we are to fill it in with tangles.  The results are always amazing!  No matter how many of us submit a zendala to the challenge, they all look different...and oh so pretty!  Here's the template we have to work from this week.  As an additional challenge this week, we've been asked to fill the template below with at least one tangle that starts with L, one with O, one with V and one with E.  You get it, a L-O-V-E  Zendala.

The tangles I chose to use for my tile are:  Lilypads, Onamato, Vache 1, and Ecohism.  I love how this turned out!

My tile is actually about 5 inches square but I cut it out round in Photoshop Elements.....kinda cool in a round shape.

If you'd like to check out all the other cool tiles, mosey on over to The Bright Owl and check them out! Thanks a million for stopping by! Your comments are greatly appreciated!  Until next time....

Zendala Dare 7

A new challenge for me is the Zendala Dare from Erin at The Bright Owl.  I've wanted to play along since the dares began, but I'm just now getting around to playing. The way it works is...Erin give us a Zendala template and we fill in the shape with any tangle we choose.  It's amazing how different every one's Zendala is considering we're all using the same shape.  Here's my tangle for Dare 7:

I love how this one turned out!  I wasn't too sure of some of my tangles and there are a couple of boo-boos in it, but I'm happy to say that there are NO mistakes in tangling! LOL!

I thought I'd also throw in my Zendala using last weeks template. I didn't finish it until Friday, and by the time I'd finished, the new template for Dare 7 was already posted....better late than never...right?

I really like how this one turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping in...I truly appreciate your comments!  Until next time...
