I Wish.....
When I was a child, every time I said "....I wish", one of my parents would always say..."don't wish your life away". I guess I didn't understand it then, but now when I think about those words, I believe they were trying to tell me to live in this moment and enjoy myself in the here and now. That's a tough concept for a child, and it's still a tough concept for me now. Sometimes during the week (especially a stressful week) I find myself wishing for the weekend. Then when the weekend gets here, I find myself wishing it would last longer.
For all the times I said "I wish I was older"....I take it back! Being older just means more responsibility not necessarily more fun! And why is it that you have to get "older" before you understand that concept?
With that said...if you had the knowledge you have now when you were a teenager...what (if anything)would you have done differently? And...is it to late to do it?
I'd love to hear your thoughts...so SHARE!
Hugs!
Susan

Susan, your post is sooo true!! I feel I am in a pretty good place in my life. So if all things in the past have given me today, I will leave it stay as is!! Of course when I am looking for the perfect pic to scrap I think "why didn't I take more pictures"!! LOL :D
How true are your comments, I so agree with you. When I was young I wished I was older. Then I got older, got married and had children. When my children were small I couldn’t wait for them to walk and talk. Now they are all grown and attached to 3 wonderful young ladies. My youngest son will be getting married in November ~ last one to fly!.. I find myself wishing for the time back when they were small. I wasn’t a scrapbooker when they were small ~ sure wished I was. All the memories are in my head with very few pictures. I let my youngest son know that when he gets married I want at least 1 picture of just my 3 sons and 1 picture of my 3 sons and me. I am a single mom and have been since my youngest son who is 24 years old son was 4. I made my kids my world. Now I have to recreate my world, with God’s direction. He has gotten me this far ~ He will see me the rest of the way.
Thank you Susan for all you share with all of us..
{{hugs}} back at ya!..

hmmm...this is always a hard question for me because I'm pretty happy with my life and I don't think I would have done things differently because I would not be who I am now if I did, however, I would have finished school sooner in my life...I would love to have had the knowledge I gained about children when I was raising my own!!! Oh well!!! It is frustrating that with all this wisdom I have now, my kids still don't listen to me!!! Have a good day Susan!!!
Hi Susan, I love your blog. You are such a talented lady, and funny the "Don't wish your life away" quote, Tim says that the kids all the time. Kim's pictures are up on our blog, I hope they enjoy them. I think the panoramic turned out so well. It was so nice to meet you last weekend.
